WHAT MATTERED part five

I still felt a bit odd
a bit out of place
having been home
had been such a grace
now at last though
voyage behind
sentiments shared
hugged and cared
reality grabbed me again
would I fullfil my dream
yes I would give my everything

The noise close about woke me from my thoughts
Oh yes, I had to do this interview
the crowd was intense
I slowly made my way through...

It's what mattered...

LAYING NEXT TO YOU

You're laying next to me

Can't sleep

Watching you

Intensly I spread my senses

I smell your skin

The sweet fragrance

Arousing me again

Your face at ease

A slight smile of happiness

You grabbed me before you fell asleep

Rested my head in your arm

After long hours of most sensual

Lovemaking

The deep meaning of our tender

Kisses

"Tell me when you come!" you whispered in my ear.

And even in your sleep you don't stir

To let me go

You hold me to be one with you

Intimately embraced

I look down your beloved body

So fitting to mine

As if we were molded

From almost the same cast

One female

One male

Like an intuition

I try to close my eyes

But I can't find sleep

And sleep does not find me

I listen to your heartbeat

Synchron to mine

My desire for you endless

From the window shines the moon

Throwing its nightlight

Like soft silk

A tender silhouette

Over us

I close my eyes again

I wonder what the morning will bring

I feel myself dozing off a little

As you wake and say:

"You never sleep!"

I open my eyes

They smile at yours

As yours at mine

Morning has come

"I love you!"

You're everything

Everything for me

I'm everything

Everything for you

Love is nothing but the truth

Inside of you

Inside of me

Love is deep

Love is everything

WHAT MATTERED part four

I had come back to the city from the country side

and was sitting under the huge Mango tree in the yard

It was quiet, just the wind playing with the leaves

of the trees the song of birds and grasshoppers

the soft waves of the ocean could be heard

I had not been here too for such a long time

George, Don, Nii Osa, Nii Lantey, Rodney and Blondie

parked their cars and came over to me

We all embraced

"Long time no see!"

We relaxed under the shade of the tree

"Let's have a drink!" said I, and went to fetch

Gin and Whiskey from the house

Let them relax a bit and enjoy the togetherness

They wanted to know how it happened

From me

How he passed

He had been their buddy

I told them tears running down my face

I wiped them quickly

"No worries guys!" I said, smiling at them

remembering how men felt about women crying...

Helpless

I was glad I saw them

I was glad I came

I was glad we embraced

It's what mattered...

WHAT MATTERED part one, two and three

~part one

What mattered were the birds singing in the morning

The breeze moving the curtains solftly

His steady breathing next to me

The first rays of sun gliding over our bare skin

The feel of the night that had passed...

~part two

Yet returning to the place

long abandoned

whithered by time

my thoughts still fresh

the beauty of how it was

embedded forever in my mind

that mattered...

~part three

The corridors where empty now

but in my mind I heard the long gone voices

the women fanning the charcoal fires outside

the -thum thum thum- rhythm pounding Fufu

Asante playing the Djembe

Kwesi playing the fool on his guitar

Business as usual

Ama, Kukwa, Rachel and Mercy doing the Jump Step

clapping their hands to the beat

Little Mary was dancing around in the red dress

with the white dots that I had brought for her

The odour of Killi Willi past my nose

the sweet smell sending me into the

Buzz of everyday life but also into Heaven

the Khebabs were sizzling on the grill

From inside the house came soft sounds of Jazz

I came back to reality looking at the ruin

A Chicken was running through the grass

There was still life here, thought I and smiled

I was glad to have come

I had made sure to come

and have a look at my 'Beginning' again

It's what mattered...

WHAT IF I HAD WINGS BABE?

If I had wings

I'd start right now

and fly the miles

in the bright moon light

just to hold you tight

till the morning light

Shhh...don't mention it

I know you know what I mean...

ALIGHT

From heavens view I decend

with the wind I fly

from the heavenly skys

the luster from the moon

and stars sanctuary light up

my ride on a cloud

I alight amid its mist

on earth

to walk toward you

on this planet I do not yet know

I glance upon all that is new

and finally take my first step

I quicken my pace

dont want to be late...

ANGEL

Someone called me an angel

today

someone who's sweet

I dare to say

someone called me an angel

today

someone who writes me

a letter each day

someone called me an angel

today

someone who cares about me

like about a sunray

someone called me an angel

today

someone poetic like a dream

in a way

someone called me an angel

today

someone who inspires

and my life becomes gay

someone called me an angel

today

...and now I'm on my way to grow some wings of love
